Bridge Of Sighs, Oxford I
Painting Oxford has become an ongoing project for Alice. Walking past thousands of tourists every day reminded her to look at her surroundings with a fresh pair of eyes.
This painting is painted in soft palettes, inspired by paintings she often encounters at her job in the museum. Alice wanted to distance her work from realistic colours. In doing this she practised using different palettes to enhance subjects.
Bridge of Sighs II is another version of the same subject, viewed from a different direction.
